What’s in Store 

We are on the lookout for a Financial Controller, who will report directly to the Davies NA CFO with a dotted line into the UK Group Controller and will be responsible for group financial reporting and control and group transactional accounting functions. You will be responsible for delivery of both the internal and external reporting obligations for Davies Group.

Due to the significant growth the business has experienced, a key component of the Financial Controller will be to develop and maintain a strong financial control environment with consistency of policies and processes across the Davies NA businesses. To be successful in this role, you should possess a wide range of expertise, including proven technical skills, ability to communicate on all levels and a can-do attitude. You will be "hands on" and show strong leadership capability and are able to operate in a complex organization that is undergoing significant levels of change.

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Oversight of Davies NA group reporting – P&L, BS & CF
  • Responsible for Balance Sheet integrity and review process across Davies NA 
  • Developing Davies NA wide financial control framework, policies and processes and ensuring consistency in accounting procedures and policies across the business
  • Roll out and oversight of adherence to group-wide accounting policies
  • Oversight of the Davies NA transactional finance function and central finance team
  • Review monthly Balance Sheet and sign-off Davies US monthly trial balance
  • Manage shared services delivery of accounting operations pertaining to Davies US LLC, including the general ledger, accounts payable, prepaids etc.
  • Implement and maintain robust financial systems and processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and integration across all entities
  • Functional ownership of the Sage Intacct finance system
  • Develop internal month-end close timetables and manage adherence to across Davies NA reporting entities
  • Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting processes and provide timely and accurate financial information to support strategic decision making as pertains to Davies US cost center and consolidated Davies NA view
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures and support internal and external audits
  • Develop and implement accounting systems, processes, and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Oversee Davies US tax compliance in coordination with North America Tax Manager
  • Manage the external audit process and liaise with auditors, bankers, tax authorities, and other external parties

This is a full-time, home-based position.

Your Expertise, Skills, and Abilities

  • Qualified Accountant (CPA) with significant post qualified experience
  • Strong technical accounting expertise, particularly GAAP/IFRS, complex consolidations and acquisition accounting
  • Significant experience in a senior financial management position, ideally as a Group Financial Controller 
  • Experience in working in high growth, acquisitive, Private Equity backed organization 
  • Experience in implementing new processes
  • Demonstrable leadership ability and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of financial project and change management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, have high organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Passionate and driven with a self-starter attitude
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
