Job description

We are Progress (Nasdaq: PRGS) - the trusted provider of software that enables our customers to develop, deploy and manage responsible, AI-powered applications and experiences with agility and ease.

We’re proud to have a diverse, global team where we value the individual and enrich our culture by considering varied perspectives because we believe people power progress. Join us as a Principal Legal Operations Administrator and help us do what we do best: propelling business forward.  This will be a remote role working out of your home office in the United States.  Due to team location, those in EST are needed.

This role will require you to have or be eligible to hold a security clearance. If selected, you may be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet and maintain the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

We are seeking a skilled, organized, and curious Legal Operations Professional to join our legal and administrative team supporting the company’s wholly-owned and cleared subsidiary, Progress Federal Solutions, Inc. (“PFS”). This role is critical to ensuring the operational effectiveness, compliance, and efficiency of PFS’ legal and business functions in the complex landscape of US federal and SLED contracting. As the Legal Operations Professional for PFS, you will work closely with senior leadership, legal counsel, and business teams to develop, enhance, and support policies, processes, and systems that support the organization’s compliance, governance, and operational goals. You will be responsible for driving improvements in subsidiary governance, contract lifecycle management, regulatory compliance, and internal workflows—ensuring that PFS operates seamlessly within the US federal contracting environment and in a manner that is aligned with our corporate parent.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as the legal operations lead for PFS, working closely with the General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer to support management and oversight of all subsidiary governance, compliance, and risk management processes.
  • Develop, implement, and refine legal and operational policies that align with federal contracting requirements, corporate governance best practices, and business objectives.
  • Optimize PFS contract lifecycle management (CLM) and other business processes, ensuring efficient tracking, negotiation, and execution of PFS contracts and subcontracts in alignment with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Manage internal legal and compliance systems and processes, including document retention, policy updates, and reporting workflows.
  • Work cross-functionally with Progress and PFS finance, HR, security, and operations teams to ensure legal and regulatory alignment across all aspects of the subsidiary’s operations.
  • Support regulatory audits, contract compliance reviews, and reporting obligations under federal contracting laws and regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and operational improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Assist with various PFS corporate secretarial tasks.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business teams, providing guidance on risk mitigation, compliance best practices, and contractual obligations.

Your background:

  • Degree or certification in business, legal studies, or a related field preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in legal operations or project management, with a strong understanding of contract management, legal technology, and vendor management
  • Proven and demonstrable ability to implement and improve legal and compliance processes, policies, and systems.
  • Understanding of and/or experience with federal contracting regulations, subsidiary governance, and legal operations best practices.
  • Experience in legal operations within a government contracting environment, preferably in the software or technology industry.
  • Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Prior experience managing contract workflows, compliance programs, and subsidiary governance matters.
This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of all legal operations functions for a growing federal contracting entity and play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s operational and compliance framework. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about driving legal and operational excellence, we invite you to apply.

If this sounds like you and fits your experience and career goals, we’d be happy to chat.

What we offer in return is the opportunity to experience a great company culture with wonderful colleagues to learn from and collaborate with and also to enjoy:

  • Medical, dental, vision, life & disability, and financial benefits (including 401(k) retirement savings plan. Tuition Reimbursement program. Additional voluntary benefits including crucial illness/hospital indemnity, identity theft protection, auto & home insurance, legal, and pet insurance.
  • Competitive salary, bonus, and best-in-class Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) with a 27-month lookback
  • Flexible paid vacation time, paid day off for your birthday, and company holidays. A variety of leave plans, including Parental Leave.
