Cashea is a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) fintech company focused on providing credit access to Venezuelan people, democratizing financial inclusion through technology. We work in cross-functional squads, each with dedicated technical leads for frontend and backend development.

About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Technical Lead to drive the evolution of our Backend Architecture, ensure technical excellence, and mentor the development team.

You Will:
  • Act as the Backend technical leader within a squad, guiding the team in architectural decisions, best practices, and technical execution.

  • Ensure system reliability and performance through well-structured testing, monitoring, and logging strategies.

  • Collaborate closely with Product, Frontend, and DevOps teams to align technical solutions with business goals.

  • Oversee deployments and production operations, ensuring high availability and fast issue resolution.

  • Participate in hiring processes, helping to attract and assess top engineering talent.

You Have:
  • 5+ YOE in backend development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or technical lead role.

  • Strong expertise in Node.js and NestJS (Express) for building scalable backend applications, deep understanding of RESTful API design and relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL).

  • Experience implementing unit, integration, and end-to-end testing frameworks.

  • Expertise in architectural patterns such as microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems.

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (preferably GCP), and infrastructure-as-code (IaC).

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with autonomy and ownership.

  • English proficiency.
