The role of the Associate Medical Director is to proactively execute medical communication and healthcare consultancy projects, ensuring they are aligned to client objectives and overall brand/medical strategy. The Associate Medical Director serves as a key scientific contact for internal teams and clients. This role collaborates cross-functionally and serves as a mentor to ensure consistent excellent delivery across a range of projects. The Associate Medical Director also supports business development from both organic and new client perspectives. 

 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as a key scientific point of contact to a dedicated account providing guidance to internal teams and clients
  • Understand client strategy and ensure projects are aligned with goals and objectives
  • Support execution of a wide range of projects across teams and therapeutic areas
  • Contribute to new business development from both organic and new client perspectives
  • Communicate regularly and clearly with internal cross-functional stakeholders
  • Develop and help oversee development of consistently excellent client-ready deliverables across projects
  • Provide mentorship to less experienced team members
  • Contribute to strong client and external expert relationships
  • Other tasks as assigned

Education/Qualifications/Technical Skills: 

  • Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the medical communications industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook 

 

Travel/Hours Requirements:  

  • Up to 20% of the time
  • Domestic and international travel
  • Position requires work outside of normal business hours including nights and weekends
