Job description

This is a remote position.

Rosor Exploration is a cutting-edge geospatial and geophysical surveying company dedicated to serving the mining and energy industries. We combine advanced technology—including helicopters, drones, and airplanes— with expert data analysis to help clients gain critical insights for exploration and resource management. Our innovative approach ensures safer, faster, and more precise exploration, positioning us as a trusted partner in a rapidly evolving market.


We are seeking a detail-oriented Sensor Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting surveying projects by collecting airborne LiDAR, orthophoto, and hyperspectral data in the field. This position requires proficiency in various software applications and a strong understanding of surveying principles.

 

The Sensor Operator will work closely with pilots, engineers, and geologists to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Operate a LiDAR sensor and cameras during airborne surveys.


Perform pre- and post-flight checks for all sensors.


Communicate with the remote support team twice daily.


Manage and organize terabytes of data in the field.



Requirements

A B.Sc or M.Sc degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).


A valid driver's license to drive in Canada.


Canadian citizenship or a valid work permit.


Strong dynamic problem-solving skills.


Experience working for several weeks in the field in remote locations.


Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and work independently.


Excitement to fly in planes/helicopters for several hours a day.


Strong data management skills.


Excellent attention to detail.


Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members.


Strong computer skills.


Familiarity with surveying principles and techniques (preferred).
