Job description

The Learning Experience Designer will work within the training department of our Product Services Division, primarily focusing on capturing and validating information for use in online and instructor-led training. This role involves developing and designing courses and curriculum, ensuring content matches established objectives, and creating engaging learning experiences and environments.
Essential Functions:
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop course content. 
  • Design and develop courses and curriculum, reshaping and editing current content and online learning materials to meet changing needs. 
  • Create learning activities, assignments, and assessments.
  • Work collaboratively with the training coordinator to ensure all training components create a cohesive training experience
  • Create instructor’s manuals, rubrics, and other teaching tools. 
  • Manage online learning communities and facilitate discussion and collaboration via social media. 
  • Analyze, update, and refine existing online content. 
  • Train instructors, customers, and employees on how to use learning technologies. 
  • Keep current on best practices in instructional design. 
  • Write scripts for video and audio content. 
  • Work with technical staff to troubleshoot problems reported by users. 
  • Conduct instructor-led training sessions for customer as needed
  • Assist with day-to-day training activities as needed in absence of the training coordinator
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in instructional design or a related role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with e-learning platforms and Learning Management Systems (LMS). 
  • Proficiency in using instructional design software and tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in course design in a software setting (Non-education)
  • Experience with Fiber, Telcom or other utility
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design models. 
  • Ability to create engaging and interactive learning experiences. 
  • Experience with ESRI or other GIS software.
  • Experience with Articulate

Work Environment:
  • Employees in an office setting or Remote
  • Sitting for prolonged periods, standing and walking intermittently
  • Using office equipment such as computer, mouse, keyboard, printer
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds
This is a remote, work-from-home job.

Expected Hours of Work:
