About Mixbook

Mixbook is the #1 rated photo book service in the US, with over 30K 5-star reviews, empowering over 6 million people to design and share their one-of-a-kind stories. We're a profitable, growing company known for our intuitive design platform, exceptional quality, and fanatical customer service. But Mixbook is more than just a product - we're a team of passionate individuals driven to make a difference.

What truly sets Mixbook apart is our commitment to creating a workplace where you can thrive both personally and professionally. We value collaboration, open communication, and a growth mindset. We believe in empowering our team members to take ownership, embrace challenges, and make a meaningful impact.

Our culture is built on a foundation of trust, constructive feedback, and a shared passion for delivering outstanding results. If you're looking for a place where your contributions are valued, your voice is heard, and you can grow alongside a talented team, then Mixbook is the place for you.

Senior Analytics Engineer

Mixbook is more than just a place to work - it's a community where creativity, collaboration, and data-driven decisions fuel our mission to empower human connection. Our Analytics team powers that mission, developing insights and delivering data infrastructure that drives decisions across every part of the business.

We're looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer to help us rebuild and scale our analytics foundation. You’ll focus on modeling clean, reliable data in dbt, transforming it into Looker dashboards the business can trust, and defining core metrics used across teams. This role is ideal for someone who can balance hands-on technical execution with a strategic mindset and thrives in an environment where the foundation is still being built.

Our current stack includes: Redshift, dbt, Looker, Metaplane, Optimizely, Mixpanel, and GA4.

Location: Remote. Requires early-morning meetings (as early as 6am PST) to collaborate with our Eastern European engineering team.

What You'll Do
  • Drive Business Performance: Own and maintain executive-level dashboards, ensuring the data models (LookML and dbt) behind them are accurate and scalable.
  • Unleash the Power of Data: Develop and refine data models to support Mixbook’s growth. Move us from ad-hoc structures to a more robust, sustainable environment for deeper analysis.
  • Transform Our Data Organization: Build repeatable, scalable solutions and guide end users on leveraging these data models for self-service analytics and consistent reporting.
  • Champion Data Governance: Establish uniform definitions for key metrics, maintain data quality standards, and implement governance frameworks that ensure confidence in our data.
What You'll Need
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (eg, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Mathematics).
  • 4+ years of proven experience in Analytics or Data Engineering.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL and LookML - you’ve built and optimized complex data models in Looker.
  • Proven track record with dbt - delivering modular, tested transformations for analytics.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) and an ability to design intuitive, user-friendly data visualizations.
  • Success in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Comfortable introducing new analytic techniques and driving their adoption across teams.
Bonus Points
  • Background in B2C eCommerce.
  • Experience with Python (including statistical modeling libraries).
  • Familiarity with building or maintaining a semantic layer in a data stack.
Why Mixbook?
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage, including fully covered premiums for you and your family.
  • Unlimited PTO (plus vacation bonuses!) and flexible schedules.
  • $2,000 per year for external learning and development.
  • 401k + match, company-wide events, travel opportunities, and more.
Our Mission & Culture

At Mixbook, our mission is to empower people to be creative and connect deeply with the ones they love. Unlike most growth companies, we have invested deeply in culture—because we believe that when we love our people, they will love our customers, and our customers will love our business.

You'll contribute to a product loved by millions and help people create lasting memories. You'll thrive in a healthy culture that values collaboration, growth, and open communication. You'll work with talented individuals who are passionate about what they do, and you'll enjoy competitive benefits and perks to support your well-being.

We want people to join us who exude our core values:

  • Scrappy: We act like entrepreneurs, taking ownership and finding creative solutions.
  • Caring: We have a heart of empathy, supporting each other and our customers.
  • Craftsmanship: We have a spirit of excellence, striving for the highest quality in everything we do.

If you're ready to join a team that's making a real difference in the world, we encourage you to apply!
