We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lead Protection & Control Engineer to join our team at K&A Engineering in remotely! In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. Responsibilities & Duties::

Role Expectations:

  • Lead the protection and control systems design for the power generation project

  • Perform grounding system calculations and analysis for electrical installations

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and codes (e.g., IEEE, NEC, IEC)

  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated system design

  • Review and approve technical documents, drawings, and specifications

  • Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers

  • Coordinate with the client and contractors to ensure design meets operational requirements

 

Qualifications & Skills::

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred)

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred

  • 10+ years of experience in protection and controls design for power generation systems

  • Expertise in grounding system design and analysis

  • In-depth knowledge of protective relays, SCADA systems, and control systems

  • Proficiency with power system analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, DigSilent, ASPEN)
