Overview:

Plays a key role in the design, implementation, and administration of Fulton Bank's employee benefits programs. This role will analyze and optimize Fulton's offerings, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide strategic insights into programs and utilization to enhance Fulton's Total Rewards package. May mentor and train other staff members.

Responsibilities:
  • Manages the day-to-day administration and evaluation of Fulton’s benefits offerings including but not limited to health and welfare, retirement, Short-Term Disability and Wellness programs.
  • Updates all plan documents and provides required documentation and materials for internal and external audits. Generates reports as needed for management. Takes the lead on benchmarking studies to evaluate the competitiveness of Fulton’s offerings and makes recommendations on changes.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations including the Affordable Care Act, ERISA, Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and other federal and state laws governing the administration of employee benefits. Confers with internal and external counsel as needed for guidance on compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Leads the annual open enrollment and year end processes. Maintains up to date benefits materials and assists with annual training and education of Fulton’s benefits offerings. Collaborates with various outside vendors to coordinate all required information and testing for annual enrollment processes.
  • Prepares benefits communications materials, develops and conducts benefits webinars as needed, and communicates frequently over the phone, in writing, and via email with employees, retirees, spouses and other family members to analyze and resolve benefits issues and problems.
  • Interacts regularly with payroll and various HR functions in an effort to enhance the employee experience. Reviews and monitors internal and external procedures and processes, recommends changes that will enhance efficiencies and remove manual interventions. Notifies relevant stakeholders of any regulatory changes that require system updates and monitors the implementation and upgrades through completion to ensure regulatory compliance. Serves as the Benefits liaison in relation to system upgrades and implementations that impact the Benefits area.
  • Consults with department managers and outside vendors regarding complex and difficult benefits situations. Manages the relationship with outside vendors, overseeing all upgrades and implementations of vendor systems that affect the Benefits area. Communicates effectively with the Benefits staff and other internal stakeholders on vendor related changes and updates all communication materials that may be impacted.

Qualifications:
Education

Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent experience. Specialty: Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance or related field. (Required)

Experience

5 or more years employee benefits administration. (Required)

Certifications

CEBS or SHRM-SCP. (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools. (Required)
  • In-depth knowledge of employee benefits laws and regulations. (Required)
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly. (Required)
  • Project management skills. (Required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint. (Required)

This includes but is not limited to, understanding and identifying compliance risks impacting their department(s), ensuring compliance with applicable laws or regulations, and escalating compliance risks to the appropriate level of management.

We set standard salary ranges for our roles based on the position, function, and responsibilities, as benchmarked against similarly sized companies in our industry. Specific compensation offered will be determined based on a combination of factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials. The salary range may vary based on geographic location.

 

The salary range for this position is $75,100.00 - $125,200.00 annually.

This job is eligible to participate in a short-term incentive compensation plan subject to individual and company performance.
