Job description

Join Us in Shaping a Greener Future!

Resourcify is the all-in-one waste management and recycling platform.

At Resourcify, we’re on an exciting mission to make waste a thing of the past. Our goal? To simplify and improve waste management by creating the most useful and insightful data in the industry. Using smart technology, we help businesses streamline their processes, connect with key players, and achieve their sustainability goals—all while making a zero-waste future possible.

Our award-winning platform gives businesses the tools they need to manage, track, and improve their recycling efforts. Big names like McDonald’s, Johnson & Johnson, Rolls-Royce, and OBI trust Resourcify to transform how they handle waste—and we’re proud to be driving this change.

With €14 million in Series A funding, we’re growing fast and gearing up for our next big chapter. We’re expanding our platform, increasing our impact, and working hard to lead Europe’s transition to a circular economy.

We are looking for a strong Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our team and help us scale and streamline our infrastructure, deployment pipelines and reliability practices. You’ll work at the intersection of software engineering and operations, helping us build robust, automated systems that enable fast, safe and frequent releases.
Join our Resource Revolution!

Your mission:

  • You plan for infrastructure growth, ensuring our systems are ready to meet the demands of a growing customer base and an expanding engineering team.
  • You own and evolve our cloud infrastructure (GCP) to ensure high availability, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  • You design, build, and maintain core infrastructure, including Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes.
  • You streamline and improve the release process, reducing manual steps and enabling faster, safer, and more frequent deployments.
  • You automate operational workflows (monitoring, alerting, scaling) and reduce toil by turning manual actions into automation.
  • You monitor and continuously improve system performance, reliability, and scalability, using metrics and data to guide decisions.
  • You are part of an on-call rotation, responding to incidents that impact Resourcify’s availability and supporting engineers during customer-impacting incidents.
  • You use your on-call experience to drive meaningful improvements, preventing incidents, hardening systems, and improving incident response playbooks.
  • You conduct and lead blameless postmortems, identify root causes, and implement long-term fixes that improve system health.
  • You collaborate with developers to debug complex production issues across services and layers of the stack.
  • You continuously improve operational processes (e.g., deployments, upgrades) to make them reliable and repeatable.

What we value in you:

  • You possess 8+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering roles, ideally in a fast-paced environment and leadership in driving infrastructure initiatives.
  • You demonstrate deep expertise in GCP and Infrastructure-as-Code, particularly with Terraform, applied in production environments, with strong fundamentals in Linux systems, networking concepts and secure infrastructure design.
  • You bring proven experience designing and operating Kubernetes infrastructure, including implementing robust security models (RBAC, least privilege, namespace isolation, etc.) and best practices in secrets management.
  • You command a strong command of CI/CD design and automation, with hands-on experience in tools enabling safe and frequent deployments. Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go to support automation and tooling are a strong plus.
  • You are experienced in architecting and operating monitoring and observability systems (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki) with a focus on proactive detection (alerting on symptoms, not outages).
  • You boast a history of improving deployment frequency, reliability, and team velocity through automation, tooling, and process improvements.
  • You exhibit leadership experience in incident response, including coordinating cross-team efforts, running postmortems, and implementing systemic fixes.
  • You hold operational experience with databases, including provisioning, backup strategies, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.
  • You demonstrate a strong grasp of build-vs-buy decisions and experience evaluating and integrating third-party infrastructure tooling effectively.
  • You maintain a track record of mentoring engineers, leading initiatives across teams, and elevating infrastructure standards org-wide.
  • You collaborate with engineers to identify pain points, building tools, and improving developer experience through infrastructure.
  • You showcase excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical trade-offs and architectural decisions clearly to both engineers and leadership.
  • You embrace a forward-looking mindset with experience or interest in leveraging AI tools to boost engineering productivity, automate repetitive tasks and enhance platform tooling and developer enablement.
  • (Nice to have) Familiarity with Spring Boot applications and the operational considerations that come with running Java-based applications in production.

How we appreciate and empower Resourcians:

  • We offer you a great working environment: Be part of a fast growing company with fantastic team members.
  • We love flexible working: Your times are flexible as you’ll be measured by your success, not by the number of hours you clock in.
  • We provide you with extra time to recharge: With our flexible vacacion policy you’ll have 30+ days of vacation to refuel your batteries and enjoy your life besides work. Not enough? You are more than welcome to take more days!
  • We are a remote first company and convinced that we can do excellent work from (almost) anywhere: You have the option to work from our central, beautifully equipped offices in Hamburg, Berlin and Munich or fully remote within Germany. At the moment we can also offer permanent employment in Austria.
  • We love a Workation! You can enjoy temporary remote work for up to 3 months provided that you have access to high speed Internet.
  • We thoroughly enjoy each others’ company: Once a year we come together for an exciting company offsite to have fun and foster relationships. In addition, we also plan team events on a smaller scale.
  • We provide you with high quality, technical equipment (Laptop) and an additional Home-Office Budget to transform your home into the most enjoyable place to work.

We celebrate our differences and welcome people from all walks of life:

At Resourcify, we’re proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We believe diversity fuels innovation and strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued. Unique perspectives and experiences help us better understand our customers and drive new ideas.
