Job Role: Bookkeeper 

Work Schedule: This is a full-time role (8 hours per day) (Australia) 

Salary range: $1500-$2000 AUD / Monthly

Who The Client Is:

The client is one of South East Queensland’s largest and most dynamic markets, events and venue management businesses.

Role Overview:

The role sees you supporting and facilitating the week-week accounts for our busy South East Queensland Markets and Events.

We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to oversee and manage our company’s financial records, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.

This role will appeal to a well versed and experienced Bookkeeper/Accountant (minimum 3 years in a busy or similar role) who is looking to further their career in a well-established and rapidly growing business.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial stability and supporting decision-making by providing accurate financial data to management.

This role reports directly to the CFO and General Manager.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • General Accounting: Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll processing, Rent Roll/property Accounts Payable and Receivable.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements and cash flow forecasts.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliation of company bank accounts and credit cards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized financial records, ensuring they are compliant with industry standards and regulations.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with Australian taxation laws.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with senior management to prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Financial Advice: Provide financial insights to management to help with business decisions, cost control, and profitability.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years of experience) as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in MYOB.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude.
