Summary:
The Technical Product Manager (TPM) plays a pivotal role in translating market and client needs into technically sound product capabilities. This role leads the identification and closure of technical gaps between product and the broader healthcare ecosystem, working closely with architects, engineers, and delivery teams.
The TPM provides guidance throughout the product lifecycle—from early-stage feasibility to design oversight and delivery—to ensure scalable, performant, and interoperable solutions with deep alignment to engineering and architecture. This role differs from a Group Product Manager in that it emphasizes technical execution over strategic market positioning, serving as the connective tissue between business requirements and technical implementation. The TPM is expected to engage directly in architecture discussions, reason about trade-offs, and support the technical implementation end-to-end.

Primary Functions
  • Perform deep technical analysis to identify gaps between product and market/client needs, particularly in interoperability, performance, scalability, and standards compliance.
  • Lead or support architecture and design discussions to ensure product features are technically feasible, secure, and align with long-term platform strategy.
  • Translate business requirements and client use cases into actionable technical specifications and requirements in collaboration with Product and Engineering.
  • Participate in architecture and code review discussions to validate feasibility, scalability, and maintainability of proposed solutions
  • Determine business and customer success metrics.
  • Support backlog refinement and delivery oversight by providing technical context, architectural input, and prioritization guidance throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Evangelize product and/or features to both internal and external customers, hosting customer conversations and attending/presenting at relevant events.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leaders in developing product communication materials (presentations, articles, white papers) and product sales strategies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Architecture, Engineering, and Delivery to ensure high-fidelity execution of the product roadmap.
  • Guide customer conversations and solutioning discussions as needed to validate technical direction and clarify platform capabilities.
  • Contribute to internal documentation and training to enable consistent understanding of technical workflows and decision rationale.
  • Maintain deep, hands-on knowledge of Clinical Intelligence product architecture, including technology stack, key integration points, and underlying system design..
  • Develop and deliver product training to customer facing teams including product features and external demo requests for customers.
  • Provide mentorship to all levels of Product Managers as well as support hiring and onboarding initiatives for new hires.
  • Serve as a technical resource and decision-maker to unblock delivery teams, balancing client requirements with architectural and operational considerations.
  • Accountable for ensuring that all working hours are accurately reported in NetSuite on a daily or weekly basis, that the majority of (if not all) hours are tracked as billable and that the project management tool in NetSuite is properly and fully utilized.
  • Tracking and reporting of billable hours is a critical aspect of project management and delivery to our customers and this is a major area of accountability.
  • Comply with the privacy, security and confidentiality policies.

  • Prerequisites
  • 5+ years of experience in a Technical Product Manager, Senior Business Analyst, Senior Product Owner, or related technical role in software product development.
  • Background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Health Informatics with a strong technical component, or a related field.
  • Proven experience delivering complex software products or platforms, ideally in healthcare or enterprise environments.
  • Strong familiarity with FHIR, SMART on FHIR, RESTful APIs, and system interoperability concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to review architecture/design proposals, translate use cases into technical requirements, and guide implementation discussions.
  • Ability to read, write, and reason through code — enough to understand architecture proposals, review pull requests, or validate technical decisions.
  • Demonstrated consultative experience including facilitating meetings and communications with executive-level clients, prospects, and partners.
  • Critical thinking skills with a creative solution-oriented mindset.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and results-oriented, with effective time management and communication skills.
  • Familiar with the FHIR standard, SMART framework, and RESTful web services, strongly preferred.
  • Some of the benefits we offer:

    * Flexible Time Away From Work Policy including PTO, Personal and Sick Days
    * Competitive Salary and Health/Medical Benefits
    * RRSP/TFSA/401K Employee Contribution
