Techstra is seeking an experienced Mainframe to Cloud Migration Architect with a minimum of 10 years of legacy platform rewrite experience and lead the transformation of a large legacy mainframe system to a modern cloud based application platform.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and plan the rewrite and migration of core functional capabilities of a large legacy mainframe application to a new modern cloud architecture.
Analyze existing mainframe systems, identify core functions, data structures and processes, and develop strategies for migration from legacy to new rewritten cloud native applications.
Design and implement solutions to migrate mainframe applications to modern architectures, such as cloud-based or distributed systems.
Evaluate and select appropriate tools and technologies to support mainframe migration efforts.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship involved in the modernization process.
Conduct thorough testing and debugging of modernized applications to ensure high performance and reliability.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to mainframe modernization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Mainframe Modernization/Migration Lead or in a similar role.
Proficiency with mainframe technologies, languages, and environments (COBOL, PL/I, and Assembler, DB2, IMS, CICS, VMS, etc.)
Hands-on experience with migration tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
Development experience with modern technologies such as Java/J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, Microservices, Angular, Kubernetes, Kafka, APIs, REST, and various cloud services.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
