Job description

About Tempo

Tempo Software is a leading provider of strategic portfolio management software, helping organizations worldwide plan, predict, and deliver their most critical work. Working with a third of the Fortune 500, we're a fast-growing, enterprise-focused company with a strong commitment to innovation, customer success, and teamwork.

We’re building a brand that stands out in a crowded market and need an account based marketing manager to help us tell our story.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Program Manager to lead and drive key product development initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for the successful execution of multiple, often concurrent, projects within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. While we embrace agile principles, we operate in a pragmatic way, adapting processes to best suit the needs of each project. A strong understanding of agile principles, Scrum, and Kanban, and well as traditional program management techniques, is essential. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, design, and marketing, to deliver high-quality products that meet our business objectives and delight our customers. You’ll be a great fit if you love building tools that make people’s work easier!

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the entire product development lifecycle for multiple projects, from ideation and planning through execution, launch, and post-launch analysis.

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with product managers and stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, tracking progress and ensuring on-time delivery.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks and roadblocks, escalating issues as needed.

  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and transparency.

  • Drive continuous improvement in our product development processes, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, motivating and empowering team members.

  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate project updates regularly.

  • Utilize project management tools and techniques to effectively manage projects and track progress (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and Tempo Solutions.

  • Contribute to the overall product strategy and roadmap.

  • Mentor and coach junior team members, sharing your expertise and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Program Manager, preferably in a product development environment.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and delivering high-quality products.

  • Strong understanding of agile principles and methodologies, even if not strictly following a specific framework. Scrum, SAFe, or PMP certifications are a bonus.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Skilled at running planning and other large-scale meetings.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with project management tools and techniques.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Experience in software development, SAAS, and platform development desired.

  • Hands-on expertise with Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence) and Tempo Solutions is a strong plus!

  • This is a remote-first position, Eastern Time Zone preferred. Occasional travel (1-2 times a year).
