Job description

This is a remote position that could be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.

The Calix Supply Chain team is looking for an individual with an entrepreneurial mindset who is willing to actively participate in the continued development of Calix’s ESG program. As a Supply Chain Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn about real-world supply chain challenges related to ESG/Sustainability topics and how to gather and analyze information. In this role, you will assist the Director of Supply Chain Risk and Sustainability, contribute to Strategic Sourcing, and support additional corporate efforts, including the Recycling program and Supply Chain Risk Management. Your responsibilities will include risk tool adoption by suppliers, documentation, and communication.

The preferred candidate should be open to learning new online platforms, researching best practices, processes, and business complexities. This position is suitable for a Junior or Senior at an accredited four-year college or university working towards a relevant degree. The duration of the internship program is expected to be 90 days.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Performs compilation and analysis on supply chain ESG and Risk related data.
  • Contribute to identify and solution process improvement opportunities, identify issues and risks.
  • Supports projects related to the collection of internal ESG data and metrics. Supports ESG reporting activities. Contributes to the development of ESG presentation and communication materials.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an undergrad level degree in Supply Chain, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, or a related degree.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply basic supply chain concepts
  • Willingness and agility to learn new tools and applications for managing various aspects of ESG/Sustainability.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, and MS Power Point.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and work remotely.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Highly organized; ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Remote-based position located in the United States or Canada.

Compensation will vary based on geographical location (see below) within the United States. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education.
