We're seeking a Director of Financial Crimes Compliance/AML/BSA Officer to lead our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) programs, ensuring our operations align with regulatory standards, support our bank partnerships, and enhance our financial crimes prevention framework.

As the Director of Financial Crimes Compliance/AML/BSA Officer, you will have oversight of Snap’s AML and CFT programs. You will continue to shape the financial crimes compliance framework, drive policy enhancements, and strengthen risk management strategies. This role requires a strong leadership presence, collaboration with executive stakeholders, and the ability to influence compliance initiatives across the organization.

  • Strategic Leadership & Program Development: Oversee and continuously enhance the AML and CFT compliance framework, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory expectations, industry best practices, and bank partner requirements.
  • Enterprise-Wide Risk Management: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, integrating financial crime risk into broader enterprise risk management initiatives. Drive policy and control enhancements based on emerging threats and regulatory trends.
  • Executive & Regulatory Engagement: Serve as the primary financial crime compliance representative for regulatory bodies, auditors, and external stakeholders, providing key insights on risk exposure, mitigation strategies, and program enhancements.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of investigators and compliance professionals. Develop career progression frameworks, optimize team productivity, and drive process improvements to increase efficiency.
  • Monitoring & Reporting Oversight: Design and refine financial crime compliance reporting frameworks, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to senior leadership, regulatory authorities, and bank partners.
  • System & Rule Optimization: Oversee financial crime detection technologies, transaction monitoring systems, and investigative workflows to enhance risk detection while minimizing false positives and operational inefficiencies.
  • Regulatory Change Management: Stay ahead of evolving AML/CFT regulations, ensuring proactive adjustments to policies and procedures. Lead change management efforts across internal teams and bank partners to maintain compliance readiness.
  • Stakeholder Reporting & Communication Cadence: Establish and maintain structured reporting schedules, ensuring executive leadership, auditors, and bank partners receive timely updates on compliance risks, program effectiveness, and operational efficiency initiatives.

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business, or a related field, with at least 8+ years of experience in financial crime compliance, AML/BSA. Certifications such as CAMS, CFE, or CRCM are preferred.
  • Previous experience as board appointed AML/BSA Officer.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Deep understanding of BSA/AML, CFT, OFAC, and FinCEN regulations, with experience leading compliance programs in financial services.
  • Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to drive enterprise-wide compliance strategies, implement large-scale process improvements, and influence decision-making at the executive level.
  • Analytical & Risk Management Skills: Strong ability to assess financial crime risks, leverage data analytics, and implement proactive risk mitigation strategies.
  • Communication & Influence: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging regulators, bank partners, and senior leadership on financial crimes compliance matters.
  • Technology & Automation Proficiency: Experience overseeing transaction monitoring platforms, case management systems, and automation tools to drive efficiency and improve risk detection.
