Job description

This is a remote position.

Following the launch of PetRehomer in late 2022, (the home-to-home adoption and pet rehoming service run by Charity Buddy), we need to expand our team of remotely-based, volunteer home checkers, to undertake individual home checks with potential adopters, and also to review the reports of the home checks undertaken by our in-person home checking partners.

Virtual home checks for dogs, cats and rabbits will follow a standard questioning process, using our detailed home check questionnaire, where we capture and record their responses. We also use our video meetings to explore the new pet's potential new home and any outdoor space or garden area to ensure suitability for the pet.

As a PetRehomer home checker, you'll be provided with advance information about the adopter and the pet, and we'll update you once the pet is rehomed so that you can enjoy seeing how you've contributed to the adoption process. It's really rewarding and is totally flexible to suit your availability.

Training will be provided, and volunteers must have good face to face communication skills, patience, and be well organised.
