Job description

This is a remote position.

We are currently hiring for the position of SQL Server Database Administrator - Developer , preferably with previous work experience in financial institutions. This is a fully REMOTE role and you will be responsible for contributing to products that are essential in some of the world's most liquid asset classes, offering solutions to major hedge funds, investment banks, or asset managers.

The division of Global Database Engineering & Operation Group is committed to maintaining the highest levels of availability for production, test, and development systems for dealers, customers, and internal users. As an SQL Server DBA/Developer, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing database availability and scalability, implementing new technologies and strategies, and ensuring seamless data backup and recovery.

Requirements

7+ years of administration and development experience in MS SQL Server (2016/2017/2019).
5+ years supporting high transactional volume systems with high levels of availability (HA).
Proficiency in writing T-SQL queries and authoring/debugging stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
Experience with evaluating query performance and implementing optimization strategies.
4+ years of experience using PowerShell for automating frequent tasks.
Experience building and supporting SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups.
SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages for ETL processes.
Proficiency in supporting all types of SQL Server replication.
Database schema, and code release processes.
Performance Tuning, Disaster Recovery.
Good communication skills in English.

Nice-to-Haves:

Understanding of the fixed-income, derivatives, equity markets, and financial instruments.
Solarwinds Database Performance Analyzer (DPA).
Exposure to Oracle, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
Quest suite of monitoring tools.
MS SQL Server on SAN’s.

Education:

College degree in computer science or related technical discipline, or an equivalent level of technical knowledge.
