For this position, we anticipate an annual salary between $100,000 - $130,000. Final employment offers will be dependent upon the selected candidate’s relevant qualifications and experience.


JOB SUMMARY

Stearns Bank, a mission-driven Minority Deposit Institutions (MDI) with deep roots in community banking, is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Product Manager of Deposits. In this critical role, you will be a key member of the Product Management team and support initiatives related to modernizing digital banking capabilities and developing innovative deposit products that align with our community-first values, while supporting our growth objectives. You will be at the forefront of advancing Stearns Bank’s digital transformation to meet the evolving needs of individuals, small businesses, and underserved communities. You will work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Technology, Fintech, External Vendors, and Data teams to identify solutions, drive profitability, improve product competitiveness, enhance operational simplicity, and eliminate friction as well as uncover new opportunities for our customers and staff. You will partner closely with our teams and will have the autonomy to test new ideas with the product team and continuously learn.

 

Your contributions will shape the bank’s ability to grow deposits sustainably while delivering exceptional value to customers, empowering economic development, and strengthening Stearns Bank’s mission of building strong communities through financial inclusion and innovation. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting and managing the design, pricing, digital enhancements, and launch of competitive deposit products, including checking accounts, savings accounts, CDs, and money market products, tailored to meet the unique needs of each of Stearns’ client segments. 
  • Responsible for supporting and managing existing digital product capabilities including, Online Account Opening, Online Donations & Round-up, Round-up Savings, Financial Literacy tools, Credit monitoring, ID Protection, Card & Direct Deposit Switch, and Positive Pay.
  • Drive new and existing digital solutions and enhancements that meet the unique needs of our customers, including Equipment Finance, Commercial Real Estate Developers, Small Businesses, Non-profits, Islamic Banking, Consumers, and more.
  • Support the Product team’s partnership with Fintechs and technology vendors to integrate efficient innovative solutions, ensuring scalability and compliance with banking regulations.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report digital adoption rates, customer satisfaction and engagement metrics, driving continuous improvements in service delivery and user experience.
  • Ensure a seamless, customer-focused experience across digital and physical touchpoints, meeting the expectations of modern banking customers while maintaining the personal connects Stearns Bank is known for. 
  • Support Product team KPIs related to deposit growth, digital adoption, and customer retention to support the bank’s objectives. 

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-4+ years of experience in financial services/technology specifically related to digital banking, deposit product management, and/or community banking with a consistent track record of driving growth and innovation. 
  • Experience managing digital onboarding (online account opening) and a variety of digital banking technologies and solutions.
  • Strong partnership focus; prior success with indirect leadership of all levels - up, down, and peer partners. Proven ability to work well with banking operations and information technology teams

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge and expertise of maintaining a product roadmap and performing product management functions related to deposit / banking related digital products, improvements, services, and solutions.
  • Expertise in user experience, technical integrations, and testing with a strong customer focus and ability to translate insights into product vision.
  • Knowledge of digital banking platforms, customer experience optimization, and emerging technologies
  • Expertise in crafting, launching, and managing deposit products that deliver customer value and competitive differentiation.
  • Outstanding ability to manage cross-functional teams, third-party vendors, and collaborate with internal and external partners. 

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. 
  • Literacy in English.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, twist, bend, sit, walk use hands to twist, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, such as computer mouse, computer keyboard, calculator, stapler, telephone, staple puller, etc., reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
