Job description


We are seeking a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our HR team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll administration, HRIS management, benefits coordination, and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will ensure the accurate processing of payroll, manage HR systems, oversee benefits administration, maintain compliance with laws and regulations, and support the company’s compensation strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Management:

    • Administer end-to-end payroll processing for employees.

    • Ensure accurate calculation of wages, taxes, and deductions.

    • Address payroll discrepancies and resolve related inquiries.

  • HRIS Ownership:

    • Manage and maintain the HRIS system, ensuring data accuracy.

    • Support system upgrades and implement best practices for efficiency.

    • Provide training and support to users on HRIS functionalities.

  • Benefits Administration:

    • Oversee benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations.

    • Serve as the main point of contact for benefits-related inquiries.

    • Collaborate with vendors to optimize benefit offerings and cost efficiency.

  • Compliance:

    • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.

    • Maintain accurate records for audits and compliance reporting.

    • Stay current with legislative updates affecting HR policies and processes.

  • Compensation Management:

    • Assist in developing and managing the company’s compensation structure.

    • Conduct salary benchmarking and market analyses.

    • Provide recommendations to ensure equitable and competitive pay practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll, benefits, or HR operations.

    • Proficiency in HRIS systems and payroll software.

  • Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, PHP, or aPHR

  • Familiarity with multi-state payroll and compliance requirements.
