Job description

Our client is a global leader in climate catastrophe risk modeling, providing advanced solutions to insurers, governments, and financial institutions. With models covering over 190 countries, they offer high-resolution risk assessments for inland flooding, storm surges, tropical cyclone wind, severe convective storms, and wildfires. Utilizing state-of-the-art probabilistic modeling, our models stand out for their speed, technical excellence, and transparency.

As a pioneer in integrating climate change scenarios, this product helps clients enhance resilience and financial sustainability in an increasingly volatile environment and our proprietary financial model enables smarter underwriting, investment, and mitigation strategies. With a focus on transparency, innovation, and customer-centricity, we are committed to shaping a resilient future for generations to come.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, validate, and enhance statistical and machine learning models for catastrophe risk assessment.
  • Apply advanced machine learning techniques to analyze large-scale climate and financial datasets.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to extract meaningful insights and optimize risk models.
  • Lead analytical initiatives to improve the speed, accuracy, and transparency of probabilistic risk models.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and domain experts.
  • Research and implement Bayesian statistical approaches (if required) for improved predictive modeling.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in data science, statistical modeling, or machine learning.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or R, with experience in data manipulation, visualization, and ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
  • Strong understanding of probabilistic modeling, statistical inference, and Bayesian methods (if applicable).
  • Hands-on experience with large-scale datasets and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Dask).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
What We Offer:
  • Flexible work arrangements.
  • Collaborative and supportive team culture.
