Medical Billing - Revenue Cycle - Appeal - Financial Follow-up Float Specialist

Work Location: On- Site or Remote

Pay $18.00

This position is bonus eligible

Work Schedule: Full-time 40hrs. a wk., Mon-Fri 7am-7pm Flex Schedule

Training Schedule Mon-Fri 8am -5pm.

Job Summary

The Medical Billing - Revenue Cycle - Appeal - Financial Follow-up specialist will follow up on the status of appeals that have been submitted to Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care plans and determine next appropriate actions based on the result of the Appeal.

Essential Functions/ Duties

  • Conducts online and phone follow-up on pending appeal responses.
  • Processes all payor responses to submitted appeals.
  • Handle inbound/outbound call center calls for payors and patients/guarantors.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Minimum three (3) years experience in healthcare/revenue cycle billing environment
  • Above average knowledge of Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care billing guidelines
  • Ability to read and decipher an explanation of benefits and/or remittance advice notice
  • Minimum of one (1) year working in a call center environment
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and Office 365

Preferred Experience

  • A minimum of one (1) year working in customer service

Preferred Education

  • High school diploma
  • GED
  • Or significant, relevant work experience
