A leading law firm is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Attorney to join their dynamic and growing team. This role involves handling a full caseload from start to finish, including hearings, trials, and client management, while working with Fortune 100 company clients. Their attorneys are trusted to work independently, with strong support staff allowing them to focus on their legal expertise and client relationships. They are looking for a self-sufficient, personable, and trial-ready attorney who can build strong relationships with clients and take initiative in managing their caseload.
Salary Range: $125,000 - $185,000 / year DOE
Workers’ Compensation Attorney Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of 60–80 workers' compensation defense cases
Handle cases from inception to resolution, including depositions, hearings, and trials
Represent self-insured employers and Fortune 100 companies
Respond to client inquiries within 24 hours and maintain strong client relationships
Work closely with dedicated legal assistants to streamline case management
Approve legal assistant work and ensure proper case documentation
Utilize Merris case system for case tracking and billing
Enter and manage own billable hours
Travel to in-person trials as required
Workers’ Compensation Attorney Requirements
Active California Bar License
2-3+ years of workers’ compensation defense experience
Trial experience highly preferred
Strong ability to manage cases independently and build relationships with clients
Ability to work hybrid or fully remote if requirements are met
Proficiency in MS Outlook and experience with case management software
