This is a remote based role with travel.

With a strong commitment to quality, innovation, and operational excellence, we partner with grocery chains, convenience stores, club stores, natural specialty retailers, and independent stores to drive incremental revenue and enhance profitability.

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Executive to spearhead growth in the retail sector by leveraging deep industry relationships, creative problem-solving, and a results-driven sales approach. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping go-to-market strategies, challenging conventional thinking, and collaborating with senior executives to introduce profitable, custom fresh food solutions that meet the evolving demands of today’s consumers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to build a 9-figure business through custom fresh food programs in the deli, meat, and frozen food categories.
  • Cultivate and expand high-level relationships with retail decision-makers across grocery, convenience, club, natural specialty, and independent channels.
  • Identify and create tailored food program solutions that align with retail partners’ strategic objectives, driving revenue growth and margin enhancement.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to influence category management decisions and enhance product positioning.
  • Challenge traditional retail sales models and introduce progressive, profit-driven strategies that set the company apart.
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless program execution.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and consumer preferences to inform sales strategies.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of sales leadership experience in fresh food, with a strong track record in retail grocery, convenience, club, or natural specialty channels.
  • Deep existing relationships with senior retail executives and category buyers in deli, meat, and frozen food departments.
  • A forward-thinking, innovative sales leader who challenges traditional sales models and introduces fresh approaches to drive growth.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to close complex, high-value deals.
  • Experience in building and scaling a sales organization with a focus on profitability and sustainable growth.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into executable sales plans.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with customers and team members.
