The purpose of the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) position is to provide senior nursing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a nursing unit, team or service. The CNS employs advanced clinical skills and exercises extended autonomy of decision making working closely with managers and other senior clinicians.

Ideal Candidate
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
Demonstrated experience in leading and initiating activities to improve clinical service delivery and patient clinical outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to prioritise and problem solve to manage the complex clinical care needs of patients through the development and use of clinical management plans.
