For this role we are looking for someone based in San Francisco to be able to easily visit prospects and customers.

About the role

The Regional Sales Director will be responsible for driving sales in the assigned region, with a focus on acquiring and expanding large enterprise customers who rely on Kafka to manage their data streaming needs. This role will play a critical part in building Conduktor's sales strategy, executing on the company’s revenue targets, and fostering long-term relationships with key clients and partners. You will lead a high-performing team of sales professionals, work closely with cross-functional teams, and leverage your deep understanding of the data streaming and Kafka ecosystem to deliver tailored solutions for enterprise clients.

What will you be doing?
  • Develop and execute a region-specific sales strategy to achieve revenue targets, focusing on acquiring new enterprise customers and expanding existing relationships with high-value accounts ($500M+ ARR) using Kafka for data streaming.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach Account Executives, Sales Managers, and SDRs to exceed sales targets, fostering a high-performance sales culture through clear objectives, progress monitoring, and continuous development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers (CTOs, VPs of Infrastructure, Heads of Data) while collaborating with Sales, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to enhance customer experience.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract negotiation and closing, ensuring accurate forecasting and adherence to CRM and sales processes for optimized performance.
  • Partner with Marketing to drive sales enablement through targeted lead generation, content, and campaigns, while building strategic alliances with AWS, Snowflake, Datadog, and other partners for co-selling opportunities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings, representing Conduktor at regional events and conferences to establish thought leadership in the Kafka and data streaming ecosystem.

  • What experience are we looking for?
  • 8+ years of B2B sales experience, including 4+ years in a leadership role within enterprise SaaS, data streaming, or cloud technology, with a proven track record of selling into enterprise accounts and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Strong leadership experience in building, coaching, and motivating high-performing sales teams, with the ability to influence stakeholders across all organizational levels.
  • Deep understanding of the Kafka ecosystem, data streaming, cloud-native platforms, and enterprise data architectures, with the ability to translate technical capabilities into business value.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and problem-solving skills, ensuring alignment between sales strategies, company goals, and customer needs.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with experience leading executive-level discussions and closing high-value contracts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
