As an Engineering Manager on the Personalization Platform team, you'll be leading architecture and building the systems that empower our feature teams to run their own A/B tests, gather analytics, and implement personalized experiences for GitLab users. You'll work at the intersection of data, experimentation, and product development. You‘ll have the opportunity to lead a team of talented engineers pushing a core part of GitLab to the forefront of our industry. You will have your engineers’ well-being as top priority as you create the conditions for a world-class team delivering impactful results for our customers. You will collaborate with counterparts to establish predictable delivery of Product outcomes and dig into your technical expertise around git and software engineering to drive technical strategy while mentoring your engineers through their careers. All while continuing to seek opportunities to enhance productivity and efficiency of the team’s efforts. As necessary, you’ll drive hiring efforts to capture top-tier talent shaping the team to better support the company’s objectives and goals.

About the team
You'll be joining GitLab's Growth Engineering team during an exciting transformation as we build out our new Personalization Platform. Our team is focused on re-investing in GitLab's product-led growth motion by creating self-service capabilities that help customers discover, try, and adopt our products with minimal friction. We're tackling key challenges like improving our analytics infrastructure, enhancing trial experiences across deployments, and building a robust personalization stack that will allow feature teams to run their own experiments. As part of our FY26 strategy, we're organizing into focused sub-teams around Conversion, Adoption, and Personalization Platform, with this role specifically supporting the platform that will empower teams across GitLab to make data-driven decisions. We're a collaborative group working closely with stakeholders from Marketing, Sales, Developer Relations, and Product teams to drive measurable business outcomes while maintaining GitLab's commitment to an excellent customer experience.

The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of listed locations only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.
