Job description

🔎 About the job

Clovr Labs is recruiting a Senior Bitcoin Software Engineer to work on new and interesting projects. Let's give you some context on who we're looking for and what to expect when you join the team.

👋 Who we are

We are a boutique consulting firm specialized in the fields of cyber security, bitcoin and lean product development. We strive for simple, elegant solutions to difficult problems and have a passion for making things unfold one iteration at a time.

🎯 Our mission

We are building many projects in various tech topics including Bitcoin and the Lightning Network as a platform for lightning fast and virtually free payments. One of our main products is ElenPAY, an enterprise-grade payment service provider built on the Lightning Network with onchain processing capabilities and soon, Taproot Assets.

🧩 Your Role in the Team

We seek curious individuals who are committed to their goals and passionate about engineering. As an experienced Software Engineer, you will help extend our current products and systems. You'll be an integral part of a dedicated team tasked with designing and developing our Bitcoin payment tools, which processes transactions on the Bitcoin and the Lightning Network.

⭐️ Our Ideal Candidate

While no single qualification is essential, our ideal candidate would possess:

  • Experience building software applications with Go, C# is also used in other parts but Go is our lingua franca. If you are not familiar with Go, don’t worry, interest is what matters.
  • Solid understanding and interest in Bitcoin, particularly the Lightning Network.
  • Special interest and high understanding of modern cloud-native software solutions, with special focus on observability, security and performance.
  • Comfort working with containers and distributed systems.
  • Interest in Open Source Software (OSS), we highly value contributions to Open Source Software. Many of our main components are OSS, and we take pride in contributing back to other OSS projects.
  • A passion for learning and a willingness to grow in a dynamic environment where requirements and priorities shift often.
  • The ability to write high-quality yet practical, maintainable code and follow best practices.
  • Familiarity with automated build pipelines and CI/CD concepts.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Humility and a team-oriented mindset, favoring the decisions of the team over individual preferences.

🔐 Key Roles

Joining our small, passionate team, you will:

  • Develop software products within our Bitcoin stack in areas such as Treasury management, liquidity management, processing and collaborating in other interesting initiatives.
  • Help maintain our extensive test coverage, write documentation as needed, engage in code reviews, and share knowledge with other developers.
  • Spend time improving the performance, usability, and maintainability of our systems—a key part of our duties.
  • Be encouraged to grow, with sufficient time and resources provided for learning new technologies and becoming a better developer.
  • Provide logical reasoning to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.

🍀 What We Offer

  • Fully remote work within Spain, offering independence, ownership, and flexibility, (candidates within Europe will be considered in exceptional cases).
  • Competitive salary [€60k - €80k].
  • A stimulating and challenging work environment.
  • The opportunity to share and learn within a passionate and diverse team.
  • A work-from-home budget to create your ideal home office setup, including internet and electricity.
  • An annual learning budget for career-related learning or tech conferences: if it is important for your career, it is important for us.
  • Fully paid team-building activities three or four times a year, held around the world.
