The Opportunity:  

The Senior Director, Presales Solutions will be a key leader in ShipBob’s Revenue organization, responsible for accelerating time-to-revenue growth, optimizing new merchant implementation, and enhancing operational efficiencies through system improvements and automation. This role requires a leader of leaders who can elevate a global team, develop both managers and individual contributors, and scale our function to support our merchants effectively. 

This position will run the Merchant Implementation, On-Site Install, and Solutions Engineering teams, ensuring successful onboarding, seamless integrations, and a world-class merchant experience. The ideal candidate has a commitment to efficiency, is data-driven, and can adjust strategic principles to align with evolving business needs. They must be able to anticipate customer growth and leverage creative solutions to ensure our resources and processes match future demand. This person must also be hands-on, engaging directly with the team, while spearheading long-term strategy. This role reports to the Chief Revenue Officer. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Lead & Develop Talent: Build, manage, and develop a global team of managers and individual contributors who support merchants in their first 30-90 days with ShipBob. Ensure leadership development at all levels, fostering a high-performance culture of accountability and continuous improvement. 
  • Presales Solutions Strategy: Partner with customer-facing teams across multiple segments of the business to identify client needs, efficiently craft tailored solutions, and conduct high-impact product demonstrations that showcase ShipBob’s capabilities and drive technical wins to close the business. 
  • Implementation Efficiency: Improve team efficiency through automation, process improvements, and strategic resource allocation to enhance merchant implementation and accelerate time to value.  Optimize onsite install and implementation processes for long term success of merchants using ShipBob’s WMS. 
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Drive collaboration with Merchant Success, Merchant Care, Product, Supply Chain Operations, Engineering, Marketing, Analytics, and Sales teams to align efforts, optimize the universal merchant experience, and drive revenue growth. 
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize analytics and forecasting models to anticipate customer growth, optimize resource planning, and ensure KPI achievement across the business. 
  • Merchant Experience & Escalation Management: Oversee the implementation team, ensuring seamless onboarding and serving as the key escalation point for complex merchant issues in the first 30 days. 
  • Strategic Innovation: Test and implement new merchant retention initiatives, education programs, and process improvements to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. 

What you’ll bring to the table: 

  • Leadership Experience: Minimum 3 years in a Senior Manager or Director-level role, with a proven ability to manage ther leaders and scale high-performing teams globally. 
  • Functional Expertise: At least 5 years in an implementation function and 5 years in a sales engineering function, with deep technical knowledge of e-commerce integrations. 
  • Business Acumen: Excellent ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, aligning initiatives with company goals and revenue objectives. 
  • Data-Driven Approach: Experience leveraging analytics to inform strategy, anticipate demand, and drive efficiency. 
  • Process Optimization: Track record of implementing automation, improving workflows, and increasing team productivity. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work seamlessly across departments, influencing key stakeholders to improve the merchant experience. 
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite), APIs, IMS, OMS, e-commerce platforms, and tools like Salesforce, Outreach, Tableau, and SQL. 
  • High EQ & Communication Skills: An excellent communicator and motivator who fosters alignment and engagement across teams.

ShipBob believes in transparency while providing a competitive total compensation package with a pay for performance approach. The full base pay range for this position in our compensation architecture is $164,633 - $274,389. In addition to base salary, this role includes the opportunity to be eligible for participation in the Company's discretionary bonus plan based on Company's plans and in accordance with Company’s policies.
