We are the only cloud-based, AI-enabled translation platform that combines a Neural Machine Translation Hub and professional language services, empowering teams to collaborate in real-time to create experiences customers love.

The Support Engineer, Web Integrations is part of the Professional Services team at Smartling. The mission of the team is to help customers rapidly integrate Smartling solutions in a way that is sustainable and scalable. You will be responsible for ongoing maintenance of customer integrations based on Smartling’s GDN solution to ensure that the integration continues to meet customer needs as their website changes over time.

We are looking for a professional with a track record of successfully supporting enterprise-grade technical solutions, who can communicate complex concepts and ideas effectively, and who demonstrates creativity in solving challenging problems for customers.

You Will

  • Interact with both technical and business users to gather requirements, analyze information, and design comprehensive and scalable solutions
  • Effectively and proactively manage process changes with business and technical stakeholders to drive implementations forward
  • Act with precision and urgency to provide customers with best-in-class support, and lead workshops and troubleshooting sessions with customer technical teams to resolve complex issues
  • Continuously articulate best practices to encourage optimal integration and platform adoption, laying the foundation for the long-term success of customers
  • Stay curious about new technologies, develop new tools, and contribute to process improvement 

You Have

  • A third level degree, or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • 2 years of relevant experience as a Support Engineer, Solution Architect, Technical Consultant, or in a similar customer-facing role that focuses on technical solution design and implementation
  • 2 years of applied experience with modern web technologies (e.g. HTTP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) and REST APIs
  • A highly analytical approach to complex problems, and are not intimidated by technical challenges
  • Excellent communicator with the capability to advise/persuade technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to drive outcomes despite complexity, ambiguity, or changing scope
  • Familiar with at least one programming/scripting language and able to write scripts

Preferred but not required

  • Knowledge of Content Delivery Networks (CDN), web servers, and proxy technologies such as Nginx
  • Hands-on experience with Splunk, Kibana, or similar technologies
  • Experience with file engineering and regular expressions
  • Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) and SQL
  • Software development experience
  • Experience with translation, localization, and internationalization processes and/or fluency in multiple languages
