Director of Finance (ZR_21733_JOB)

This is a remote position.

We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled Director of Finance to manage financial operations for multiple small businesses within our investment portfolio. Our portfolio includes companies in real estate, ecommerce, wholesale, AI marketing, and consulting. This role requires a strong background in bookkeeping, reporting, cash flow management, and business financing, as well as the ability to collaborate directly with ownership to optimize financial performance and guide decision-making.

• Bookkeeping & Financial Reporting: Accurately record financial transactions in QuickBooks, ensuring timely and precise financial reporting. Perform monthly reconciliations to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  

• Financial Analysis: Generate comprehensive reports and insights on cash flow, investment returns, expenses, and financial forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
  

• Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payment of obligations and collection of outstanding balances. Review incoming invoices, coordinate payment plans, and follow up on receivables to maintain liquidity.
  

• Budgeting & Cost Optimization: Develop and oversee budgeting processes in collaboration with ownership, identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing financial performance across the portfolio.
  

• Strategic Decision Support: Provide data-driven financial insights to ownership, assess potential risks, and support informed decision-making regarding investments, expansions, and operational efficiencies.
  

• Regulatory Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure full compliance with IRS regulations, financial laws, and industry best practices, maintaining audit-ready financial records at all times.
  

• Financial Strategy & Planning: Design and execute financial strategies to enhance business growth, cash flow management, profitability, and long-term sustainability.
  

• Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between ownership, CPAs, lenders, executive teams, and external financial advisors, ensuring alignment and execution of financial objectives.
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Director of Finance, Controller, or similar senior finance leadership role
  
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel (pivot tables, financial modeling, etc.)
  
• Deep understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and U.S. tax compliance
  
• Experience managing finances across multiple business entities
  
• Demonstrated ability to generate and present actionable financial insights to executives
  
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
  
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage competing priorities effectively
