Job description

Company Overview
Intersect Power is a team of friends driven to preserve our planet for future generations through low-carbon energy and infrastructure solutions. Intersect Power is a privately held clean energy company bringing innovative, scalable, American-made, low-carbon solutions to its customers in global energy markets. We develop, own, and operate some of the world’s largest grid-tied clean energy resources, as well as co-located facilities for large industrial loads, including data centers, e-fuels, and other energy-intensive products. We are laser-focused on the largest, most transformative clean energy projects that decarbonize the existing power grid and bring new loads to clean generation without the need for new transmission. Intersect is redefining the scope of the clean energy industry by enabling new pathways between clean electricity and the broader economy. We are on an aggressive growth trajectory and are looking to fill key roles with talented professionals who want to make an impact.

Location & Team Gatherings
Intersect has been a fully flexible workplace since its founding in 2016.  We’ve been very intentional about the way we do things. We are not work-from-home, hybrid, or in-office – we are any and all of those options! Deepening social connections and offering shared experiences is a cornerstone of the way we work. We connect as a team at our Team Week experiences four times a year and at our recently established Hub locations - SF Bay Area and  San Diego, CA; NYC Metro Area, NY; Denver, CO; Austin, TX; Calgary, AB; and Toronto, ON.

We are currently seeking candidates located within 60 miles of any of the listed hubs to foster more in-person connections while maintaining our flexible remote culture.

About This Position
We are looking to add a Compensation and Equity expert to support and enhance our total rewards function. This role will have a specialized focus on equity planning management and core compensation modeling and administration. While day-to-day equity administration is managed by an external vendor, this role will serve as the internal lead—managing the vendor, ensuring compliance with plan rules, and coordinating cross-functional efforts to support our executive and investor-aligned programs.

This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys the intersection of compensation, equity, and compliance in HR Operations.

Overview of Department
Our HR department consists of three functions: Employee Engagement, HR Operations and Recruiting. We are a small but powerful team that thrives on measurable and agile approaches to help scale the business, engage all employees and serve as a steward of our culture. Our department's approach is to “Build the best team on the planet to save the planet”, and we mean it.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Executive Equity Programs (Oversight & Strategy):
  • Manage internal coordination for equity and grant programs including approvals, communication, and tracking

  • Ensure compliance with legal, tax, and plan requirements in partnership with Legal, Finance, and external counsel.
  • Maintain internal audit trails, trackers, and documentation related to all equity activity
  • Oversee service levels, deliverables, and timelines from the equity administration provider
  • Monitor vendor processes to ensure data integrity, regulatory compliance, and participant support standards
  • Lead regular reviews and updates of plan documents, processes, and equity communications in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external counsel
  • Supports equity plan re-design efforts

  • Compensation & Modeling:
  • Assist in the annual compensation cycle (merit, bonus, equity planning) by preparing data, running reports, and supporting system processes
  • Conduct compensation benchmarking and job evaluations using survey data and market tools
  • Maintain clean, accurate compensation data across internal systems and spreadsheets
  • Support compensation audits, internal reporting, and process improvement efforts

  • Qualifications and Skills
  • 3-5 years of experience in compensation and/or equity programs, preferably in a PE-backed or high-growth company.

  • Understanding of equity-related compliance, tax, and legal considerations.
  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills for modeling and data validation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or a related field. CCP or CEP coursework/certification is a plus.

  • *A note on qualifications: Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they are able to perform every task in the job description. We are most interested in finding the best candidate for the job and will consider any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education and experience to meet minimum qualifications. If you are interested in applying, we encourage you to think broadly about your background and skill set for the role.
