What you will do:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Trust Accountant to manage trust accounting functions, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and accurate financial transactions. The ideal candidate will have experience in trust account management, reconciliation, and real estate transactions.
This role will also play a key part in supporting our CRM transition from Agentbox to REX, assisting the business during the implementation and changeover in the medium term.
Trust Accounting & Financial Management
  • Daily receipting and reconciliation of trust accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and manage trust ledgers, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing trust funds, ensuring they align with contract terms.
  • Prepare and deliver Account Sale Tax invoices to relevant parties.
  • Liaise with auditors and assist with trust audits to ensure full compliance with Australian trust accounting regulations.
  • Assist and manage settlement funds disbursements, including liaising with vendor solicitors to coordinate accurate and timely transfers.
Settlement & Disbursement Management
  • Review upcoming settlements to confirm all marketing funds have been disbursed before settlement.
  • Work closely with conveyancers, agents, and vendors to ensure smooth fund transfers.
  • Assist the Finance team in setting up Secure Exchange transactions for surplus marketing refunds.
Administration, Compliance & System Transition
  • Maintain accurate records in trust account management software and CRM.
  • Support the business in the transition from Agentbox to REX, contributing to a smooth implementation and adoption process.
  • Generate financial reports and assist in audits as required.
  • Ensure compliance with state-based trust accounting laws and real estate regulations.
How you will grab our attention:

  • Strong understanding of trust accounting regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience with trust accounting software and reconciliation processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple settlements concurrently
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with finance teams, agents, vendor solicitors, and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management skills
