Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you’re capable of?

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. It’s a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the emerging onchain platform — and with it, the future global financial system.

To achieve our mission, we’re seeking a very specific candidate. We want someone who is passionate about our mission and who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. We want someone who is eager to leave their mark on the world, who relishes the pressure and privilege of working with high caliber colleagues, and who actively seeks feedback to keep leveling up. We want someone who will run towards, not away from, solving the company’s hardest problems.

Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. But if you want to build the future alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there’s no better place to be.

Coinbase is looking for an Audit Analyst to join the Internal Audit team focusing primarily on SOX/ICFR compliance audits. This role is based in the United States (Remote) and will be reporting to an Internal Audit Manager. The individual will be responsible for executing all aspects of audits, including planning, walkthroughs, control testing, IPE testing, and deficiency remediation. The individual has experience in finance or accounting and has an understanding of US GAAP and SOX 404 requirements. Must be proficient in Excel and Google Suite.

  • Assist in the execution of internal audits including audit planning, detailing control procedures, and the related testing and reporting in accordance with professional and departmental standards, particularly Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Build trust and maintain positive relationships with internal partners, cross-functional teams, and external auditors
  • Assist in leading business process walk-throughs with functional business partners and external auditors.
  • Prepare clear, accurate and complete workpapers for business process controls in accordance with quality standards; meet project timelines and deliverable due dates
  • Identify audit issues and perform root cause analysis with practical corrective solutions
  • Maintain project tracker and assist in preparation of status dashboard
  • Work closely with both first and second lines of defense and external auditors to coordinate meetings, support requests, findings, audit approach, and audit deliverables

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
  • Minimum 2-3 years of accounting or financial audit experience
  • Strong technical skills including US GAAP, SOX, COSO, Risks, Controls, Operational Processes
  • Big 4 or public company audit experience, or experience testing financial controls
  • Proficient in Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides)
  • Experience with data analytics
  • Ability to partner across the organization (Finance, IT, Compliance, External Audit etc.)
  • Detailed oriented; ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Solid analytical and research skills
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized, enthusiastic, and motivated
