Location: We are remote-first. This role can be based in most states in the US. 

The Opportunity

As a Staff Accountant, you will fulfill an essential role on the Accounting Team in a mission based company. Reporting to the Accounting Lead, this full-time position is hands-on, with a mix of accounting, reconciliations and operational duties. Prior experience out of a banking or finance company is required.

 Your day-to-day

  • Prepare cash reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.
  • Manage Oracle Cash Management and the reconciliation cash and intercompany activity.
  • Implement new rules in Oracle Cash Management to capture external transactions.
  • Own the creation of new companies and bank accounts in the General Ledger and Chart of Accounts.
  • Prepare monthly Facility/Securitization Waterfall calculations and journal entries, income statements and balance sheet analysis.
  • Corporate card and expense reimbursement and reporting.
  • 1099 reporting.
  • Participate in interim and year-end audits.
  • Maintain up-to-date process documentation and procedures as assigned.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to document and incorporate new transactions or processes into the General Ledger.
  • Identify process and control improvement opportunities and work with management and peers to implement appropriate changes.
  • Lead and contribute to the implementation of new or enhancements of current accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Maintain a solid understanding and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
  • Cross train with other team members to ensure coverage of all accounting areas.
  • Support special projects, ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis.

 What you bring to the team

  • 3+ years relevant Accounting experience in the Financial/Banking Industry.
  • 1+ year loan/lending accounting experience required  (includes strong backgrounds include credit card companies, equipment finance, auto finance, mortgage, or specialty finance companies).
  • Advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables, logic formulas, vlookup, sum functions).
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and recommend corrective actions.
  • Experience with ERP Systems, Oracle Financials a plus. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required
  • Thorough and detailed oriented with strong communication skills
  • Driven to exceed expectations in a fast paced environment

Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000. The position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we’re proud to offer a range of competitive benefits.
