Job description

This role exists within our Total Rewards & People Operations team to assist us with a critical payroll and benefits administration project. This role is focused on data accuracy, systems support, employee communications, and operational tasks. This person will play a supporting role working closely with the Total Rewards team to ensure a smooth, people-first experience for our employees. 

Responsibilities
  • Support benefits set up, including data entry, documentation review and auditing enrollments across platforms.

  • Assist with setup and administration of health, dental, vision, and other employee benefits.

  • Provide day-to-day support for leave of absence processes – including FMLA, disability, and parental leave – ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

  • Assist with data migration of HRIS systems, ensuring employee records are accurate and complete.

  • Monitor and assist with responding to employee questions during the project, using our HR ticketing system. 

  • Provide administrative support for onboarding/offboarding tasks as needed.

  • Partner with the Total Rewards team on day-to-day HR processes and projects  as needed.

Must Haves
  • Minimum 2-5 years experience in HR, with a focus on benefits administration and leave of absence support.

  • Solid understanding of FMLA and related state/federal leave regulations..

  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., TriNet, ADP, Workday), including data updates and audits.

  • Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to data accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently on responsibilities without daily oversight, including an awareness of when escalation is required.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a service-oriented mindset, understanding the impact of HR operations across the organization.

Nice to Haves
  • Experience supporting system migrations.

  • Familiarity with benefits or payroll compliance.

  • Experience using HR ticketing systems like Zendesk or Jira.

Virta has a location based compensation structure. Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. For this role, the compensation range is $35-$42.  Information about Virta’s benefits is on our Careers page at: https://www.virtahealth.com/careers
