Job description

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc. is seeking a Director, IP Trademark Brand Development to support the development, protection, and management of Regeneron’s valuable intellectual property pertaining to brand protection.  The role will involve overseeing Regeneron trademark and copyright portfolios, supporting worldwide enforcement of Regeneron’s trademarks and copyrights, and leading cross-functional teams to support Regeneron’s brand strategy.  The position involves close client relationships with Regeneron research, manufacturing, regulatory, commercial and corporate communication groups. The Director Intellectual Property is a non-attorney role reporting to the Senior Director, Assistant General Counsel, IP Portfolio Development

A typical day may include:

  • Providing guidance to legal, commercial, regulatory and other business stakeholders concerning generic and brand names as part of drug approval process by FDA and other marketing authorities;
  • Lead internal governing body overseeing brand protection;
  • Supporting Regeneron worldwide trademark prosecution portfolio;
  • Managing key nomenclature and trademark libraries;
  • Supporting global trademark and nomenclature search projects, including creation of brand names, INNs, logo designs, foreign language transliterations, 4-letter biologic suffix, etc. for all new product compounds, and co-marketed drugs, devices, digital apps, and dosage forms;
  • Performing internal trademark searches and provide advice to Regeneron clients on third-party trademarks;
  • Managing internal requests to use copyrighted materials of third parties;
  • Develop INN, brand name, and other nomenclature-related SOPs and guidance and deliver training and educational on best practices and company policies and procedures related thereto;
  • Supporting counterfeiting mitigation by registering trademarks with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and global agencies. 

This role may be for you if you have:

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities;
  • Ability to manage a large and complex trademark docket with minimal supervision;
  • Exceptional communication skills, including presentation, interpersonal, writing and conflict resolution.

To be considered for this role you must possess a B.A./B.S. or Masters (preferably in the life sciences) is required; Minimum of 10 years experience with trademark and copyright matters, particularly those relevant to the biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical fields;

Salary Range (annually)

$180,400.00 - $300,700.00
