As a Microsoft 365/Entra Systems Engineer at Gordon Brothers, you will play a major role in the ongoing design, configuration, administration, security, monitoring, and troubleshooting of our 365/Entra environment. Significant expertise and knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Entra are required.  Experience with Microsoft Intune, Defender Security Portal, Purview (Compliance), and Windows AD/Hybrid Exchange/Entra Connect is preferred. Working knowledge of networking/network security/DNS and Microsoft Azure is helpful.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Support the architecture, configuration, security, and management of Microsoft: 

  • 365Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and other related services 

  • EntraIdentity (Users, Group, Devices), Enterprise Applications/App Registrations, Protection (Identity Protection, Conditional Access, Authentication), Identity Governance, External Access/Collaboration 

  • Defender (365) Security Portal (based on experience) 

  • Intune – Endpoint Protection, MDM/MAM (based on experience) 

  • Purview/Compliance Labeling, Retention, DLP, Risk Management (based on experience) 

Monitor and take corrective action to improve security based on information from:

  • Security-related alerting, recommendations and scoring within Microsoft 365/Entra 

  • Microsoft (365) Defender

Integrate Microsoft 365/Entra services with other systems and applications (including SSO) 

Provide tier 2 and 3 support for Microsoft 365/Entra issues and questions 

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Microsoft 365/Entra services 

Develop and implement best practices for the use of Microsoft 365/Entra tools and services 

Automate routine tasks and workflows using PowerShell, Microsoft Power Apps, and other tools 

Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures 

Lead initiatives for implementing new features and services within Microsoft 365/Entra

Coordinate and collaborate with vendors, partners, and external consultants to optimize IT solutions and services

 

 

SKILLS/ABILITIES 

  • Ability to multi-task on different projects and prioritize projects according to business importance and risk tolerance

  • Ability to communicate technical / security issues using business language that non-technical people can understand

  • Ability to form strong, productive relationships with both internal stakeholders and external vendors, partners, and consultants

  • Ability to deliver complex IT projects on time and within budget

  • Ability to learn new technologies, train others, and create documentation

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Five+ years of relevant experience
