Director, Strategy

RKD Group, a direct response marketing and advertising agency, is seeking a Director, Direct Mail Strategy to achieve breakthrough results that make a positive impact in this world. The Director Direct Mail Strategy should leverage their industry and channel expertise, along with knowledge from fellow channel strategists across the organization, to develop comprehensive strategies specific to a client’s needs. The Director will be responsible for developing direct mail strategies for their clients, both direct mail only and omni-channel, and will provide recommendations through strategic communication plans, audience journeys, audience profiles and campaign plans.

The Director, Direct Mail Strategy will lead discussions with the client, develop presentations, create annual plans, write strategic blueprints, develop program projections, and report back on program health.

The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to enterprise-wide efforts to improve strategic planning and client program results and share those macro-findings with clients or client groups, where applicable.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Understanding the marketing and fundraising goals and objectives of a client’s program.
  • Develop comprehensive direct mail strategies and annual plans.
  • Review program file health and recommend changes to plans as needed, ensuring that client goals are being met and strategies are optimized.
  • Leverage data to inform strategies, using analytics and other tools to gain insights into elements such as donor behavior and preference.
  • Draft campaign strategy blueprints for clients that will be shared with clients and used by account managers and operations team members to execute campaigns
  • Present direct mail strategies to clients and answer questions related to direct mail strategies.
  • Maintain and refine annual budgets and projections as campaigns progress throughout the year.
  • Ascertain and develop personal knowledge of various client technical platforms for appropriate use in execution of direct mail strategies.
  • Participate on client teams that serve RKD’s nonprofit clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Client Partnership, Data & Analytics, and Account Management, to ensure seamless execution of strategies and ensure a strong client experience.
  • Perform ongoing industry and channel research to ensure the most up to date strategies are being offered to clients, including findings from global trend analyses, testing, etc.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred.
  • Preferably 8+ years’ experience in an agency environment with direct mail direct response marketing to develop direct mail marketing strategies, including recommendations for offer, packages and audiences.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook).

LOCATION: Remote, some travel may be required.  

Pay Range expected for the position: $85,000-$110,000 annually.
