Senior Applications Programmer

Overview

HR Professionals is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Senior Applications Programmer to work with the State of Louisiana. This exciting opportunity allows for 100% remote work while playing a key role in the architecture, design, development, and implementation of enterprise-grade applications. The successful candidate will be a driving force in ensuring the application is aligned with organizational standards and practices. This role spans a five-year engagement, starting on October 21, 2024 and ending on June 30, 2029.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of new and existing web applications using technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, SQL Server, and HTML.
• Maintain and support existing applications by performing regular quality assurance reviews and testing of new code.
• Engage in collaborative team meetings and design sessions in accordance with Scrum ceremonies, ensuring adherence to Agile practices.
• Mentor and guide State personnel by providing technical knowledge transfer, training, and documentation for all assigned work.
• Monitor, review, and audit the performance of customer-agency’s replacement software and implement performance improvements when necessary.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with:
  • C#
  • ASP.NET Core
  • Entity Framework
• 2+ years of experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of recent experience with:
  • Developing applications using .NET version 5 or greater
  • VueJS
  • Bootstrap
  • JavaScript
  • SQL Server (T-SQL)
  • IIS
  • Distributed Design Systems (SOA/Microservices)
  • DevOps Practices (CI/CD) and Systems
  • Experience with monitoring/observability platforms and instrumenting applications to trace transactions and provide timely alerts around issues.
