The Senior National Account Manager plays a crucial role in building and maintaining strong customer relationships, focused on solutions to enhance revenue growth and client retention. This role will be responsible for developing relationships and driving growth in key accounts to include regional and national payers, Worker Compensation, Cost Containment, and other distribution partners. The Senior National Account Manager will utilize account management expertise to identify and meet internal and external partner needs while building rapport and relationships cross functionally and within these accounts. This role will also be responsible for monitoring and updating payer policy and credentialing.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with National Account Directors on payer contracting and relationship management within assigned accounts.
  • Own relationships with key contracting and medical contacts at established accounts and foster more in-depth relationships with accounts where Bioventus business is not fully established. 
  • With National Account Director, develop contacts with Medicare and State Medicaid.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with PARS, reimbursement, and field sales to communicate and implement payer policy changes, payer creation, process improvements, and contract updates.
  • Maintain accurate contracting database and payer policy app/portal to inform field partners of current payer policies. 
  • Act as internal resource for all payer related questions, including interpretation and clarification of contracts and medical policy.
  • Manage and process payer credentialing and revalidation, to include: checking credentialing mailbox, maintaining database, COI, business licenses, DME, FEIN, Medicare, Ownership etc.
  • Perform special assignments and projects as needed to maintain and grow revenue for all Bioventus products, including SOP’s.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards by doing our job compliantly, ethically, and in a manner that reflects our underlying values.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance or related field.
  • Proven managerial work experience with payers, Key Account Manager, or relevant role in sales within the medical field.
  • Payer Contracting experience required.
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present, and influence key stakeholders (internally and externally) at all levels of an organization.
  • Experience delivering client-focused solutions and managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of regional Payer landscape.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 50%
  • Effective with Microsoft Office and contract management systems.
  • Minimum 7 years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience in related area
