Job description

The Vice President of US Sales is responsible for developing and executing the company’s sales strategies to drive profitable sales growth and increased market share. This role involves leading two teams (Eastern and Western US) of sales professionals, providing coaching, performance management, and ensuring alignment with company goals. The VP will collaborate closely with other departments, including marketing and product development, to ensure sales initiatives are in line with product offers and customer needs. They are responsible for building strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and industry partners to expand the customer base. 


Compensation: $250,000 plus commission. 

Location: Remote, US Based 

    

The day-to-day:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies that align with company revenue and growth objectives. 
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to optimize sales plans, ensuring alignment with company goals and adapting to evolving market conditions.
  • Manage, mentor, and motivate sales teams to meet or exceed performance targets while fostering a high-performance, results-driven culture.
  • Provide coaching and training to support individual and team growth, ensuring ongoing skill development and achievement of goals.
  • Build a strong pipeline of prospects and strategically target new opportunities for expansion.
  • Work closely with peers including product development, operations, and finance teams, to align sales efforts with company objectives. 
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, distributors, and partners. 
  • Enhance customer loyalty through proactive communication, tailored solutions, and exceptional service that meets client needs.
  • Oversee sales budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation to high-impact initiatives. 
  • Monitor spending and ensure cost-effective execution of sales strategies.
  • Lead efforts to recruit, train, and retain top-performing sales and marketing professionals.
  • Foster a positive and growth-oriented environment to ensure ongoing skill development and career advancement for team members.
  • Regularly monitor sales performance and track key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide detailed performance reports, offering
  • recommendations for adjustments or improvements to optimize sales outcomes.
  • Motivates and coaches' employees by assessing employee performance, providing helpful feedback, and training opportunities
  • Delegates tasks and manages progress to ensure successful completion of department objectives.
  • Creates and reinforces a culture of teamwork and actively resolves conflicts within the team.
  • Manages proactively by holding regular 1on1s and team meetings to ensure open lines of communication and professional development for direct reports.


What does it take to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years in sales and/or marketing, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role with national-level responsibilities and a proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop high-performing sales teams.
  • Proven track record of driving consistent revenue growth, exceeding targets, and successfully executing commercial strategies through strategic leadership and accountability techniques.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills to assess sales performance, track KPIs, identify trends, and refine strategies for optimized sales outcomes.
  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial management to ensure sales targets are achieved while maintaining profitability.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), sales analytics tools (e.g. DOMO), and digital sales platforms to drive efficiency in customer data management and sales reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through organizational changes, market shifts, or product introductions while fostering a culture of inclusivity, respect, and high performance.
