POSITION SUMMARY:
AMETEK Sensors, Test and Calibration is looking for a UK Sales Manager, mainly for our Calibration product portfolio, to join our team in the UK. This position will provide the territory and account responsibilities required to plan, manage, supervise, and coordinate the activities related to the sale and promotion of products and services of the business, and the implementation of the commercial strategy. This includes identifying new business opportunities and developing the customer base, contributing to the development of new market strategies, maintaining existing accounts, increasing order intake, enhancing associated margins, and advising and guiding the business using the most effective use of resources to meet the territory’s growth goals. Account management capability and a hunter’s ability to win new business is necessary for success.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meet/exceed quarterly and annual orders and sales goals.
- Manage the customer experience and expectations.
- Develop strategic customer accounts and cultivate new business opportunities.
- Manage the customers and associated pipeline of opportunities in SalesForce CRM.
- Schedule meetings and optimize travel plans based on customer engagement and sales potential priority.
- Reach out to prospective customers to understand new opportunity potential.
- Follow up with existing accounts to check on performance and discover new project opportunities.
- Manage, support and educate channel partners on our Calibration product capabilities and collaborate on specifying the proper solution technologies.
- Attend and effectively represent AMETEK Sensors, Test and Calibration at conferences and/or trade shows.
- Support financial reporting including forecasting and quarterly reporting requirements; provide regular communication on key developments in the market region.
- Collaborate closely with other departments on technical services, delivery and product innovation demand.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S. or B.A.) in a business or engineering-related field, equivalent degree recognized through Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a sales engineer position.
- Well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to be self-directed and effectively relate to all levels of an organization.
- Must demonstrate excellent external communication skills and strong customer focus; must be able to negotiate and persuade.
- Driven and flexible individual who wants to learn and grow professionally.
- Must be able to work well within a team or independently and demonstrate initiative to drive results.
- Technical understanding and experience with process instrumentation or industry is desired; Pharma, Chemical, Power & Energy and/or Oil & Gas.
- Knowledge related to sensors; temperature, pressure and transmitters is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, SalesForce(CRM) or similar software.
- Fluency (written & oral) in English is required.
- Must be able to travel domestically; frequent overnight stays as the needs of the customers in the territory dictate; Expected travel requirement will be about 50%.
