JOB SUMMARY:

Envista is seeking a talented and innovative Sr. Data Scientist to join our IT Data & Analytics team. This role requires a Data Scientist who can provide thought leadership and strategic direction on how artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) can be utilized to optimize Commercial, Human Resources, Financial and other operating company or department needs. They will work closely with stakeholders using an agile project management framework to plan, design, and execute projects that leverage AI and ML technologies.

The Sr. Data Scientist will provide thought leadership in developing strategic capabilities in the AI/ML space designing and implementing strategies that create the essential technical and business process building blocks necessary for understanding the impact of AI/ML and analytics at Envista. He/She will partner with cross-functional teams to build industry-leading capabilities in operational AI/ML and work with key business operations partners to define operating metrics and enable predictive analytics. The role needs to stay current with advancements in machine learning models as should have the ability to frame business questions from a data science perspective and derive data-driven solutions. The role also involves designing and applying advanced modeling solutions in statistical analysis, bioinformatics, data automation, data mining, machine learning, and data visualization.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development and implementation of AI, ML, and Generative AI solutions to simplify and automate business processes.
  • Collaborate with Commercial teams to understand their needs and provide insights and solutions to enhance sales and marketing strategies.
  • Work closely with central G&A functions (Finance, HR, IT, etc.) to identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation through data-driven solutions.
  • Plans and executes the full lifecycle of machine learning models.
  • Utilize tools and platforms such as Databricks, Python, Snowflake, and Tableau to analyze data, build models, and present findings.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in AI, ML, and Generative AI, and apply this knowledge at Envista.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data science processes, models, and algorithms.
  • Provide training and support to team members and stakeholders on AI and ML technologies and best practices.
  • Build an AI community at Envista to share best practices, knowledge of different projects and drive adoption of data science methodologies.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree AND 12+ years of proven experience in AI, ML, and Generative AI models and technologies OR
  • Master’s degree in Data Science AND 10+ years of experience in AI, ML, and Generative AI models and technologies OR
  • PhD degree in data science AND 6+ years of experience with advanced analytics teams at a Medtech or technology company.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R or SQL.
  • Experience with data analytics tools and platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Tableau.
  • Experience in operationalizing algorithms into production systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Target Market Salary Range:

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
