Job description

Compensation: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour. You are eligible for a Short-Term Incentive Plan with the target at 5% of your annual earnings; terms and conditions apply.

Systems Support Specialist - Payor - Remote

The PFS Systems Specialist - Payor is responsible for creating and maintaining payor processes as required by Patient Financial Services (PFS) to ensure functional needs are achieved. Payor support includes reviewing and researching payor set up requests, as well as maintaining payor fee schedules. PFS Systems Specialist – Payor will also support PFS by acting as primary point of contact with ancillary vendors related to payor set ups. In addition, PFS Systems Specialist may be required to provide representation related to internal billing/operational/IT initiatives. 

Essential Functions

  • Manage and maintain the PFS payor database including payor demographics, filing deadlines, network status, pricing configurations per contract terms
  1. Configures new prices, payers, consolidation rules, MUEs and other business rules  
  2. Maintain PFS system application support for table configurations related to payors 
  • Provide technical assistance and support in adherence to established processes for incoming inquiries and issues related to payor information
  • Research and resolve PFS payor claims issues, with emphasis on root causes and reduction 
  • Performs analysis on the system software configuration to optimize and improve the processing system 
  • Makes recommendations for system enhancements and new features 
  • Assists with user acceptance testing and facilitating billing end-user testing of application releases to verify adherence to requirements 
  • Properly escalate unresolved inquiries to next level support in a timely manner 
  • Works productively and efficiently to achieve company and departmental goals 
  • Other duties as assigned 
  • Qualifications

    • 1+ years of experience in analytic, technical, and reporting experience with health care data 
    • High School diploma required; college degree preferred 
    • Experience with healthcare PFS Application configurations; XIFIN software 
    • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office, specifically Excel  
    • Excellent computer skills   
    • Analytical skills in the areas of claim processing, billing and reimbursement as affected by various data systems 
    • Ability to convey complex ideas in an easily understood manner to guide audience through written or verbal communications 
    • Ability to work independently 
    • Excellent attention to detail 
    • Must demonstrate problem solving and strong organizational skills 

    Preferred

    • 2+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory preferred, especially genetic billing 
    • 2+ years of experience in all aspects of the billing revenue cycle a plus 
    • Understanding of healthcare claim and invoice processing; genetic testing experience a plus
