Job description

Job Title: Jr Automation Tester - Katalon
Clearance Required: Public Trust – Federal Client requires US Citizenship
Work Location: Remote

Alpha Omega is seeking a qualified Jr Automation Tester-Katalon for a remote position on our Federal program in Alexandria, Virginia. Federal Client requires US Citizenship.

Work with a cross-functional team of passionate technologists assessing software quality. Apply modern, innovative testing approach and leverage test automation solutions that maintain and improve our team’s velocity. Take on a variety of new challenges, continually learn from others, and establish expertise in several areas of quality engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learn our existing quality approach and scripts
  • Create test automation scripts with robust patterns for high reliability
  • Conduct exploratory testing (using Rapid Software Testing methodology) as needed
  • Create concise, reproducible defect observations
  • Manage assigned tasks within a sprint and track progress
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies and provide inputs during effort sizing for testing tasks
  • Document and share findings with other members of the team

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering

Experience/Skills:

  • Federal Client requires US Citizenship.
  • 2+ years of full experience with automation testing.
  • Must have Katalon Studio Testing Experience.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to develop test automation frameworks or to use test automation frameworks and tools such as Katalon Studio and Selenium.
  • Experience in version control systems such as GIT.
  • Have experience with API testing.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL.
  • Strong Exploratory and Ad-hoc testing skills.
  • Passion for building products and giving feedback to product teams.
  • Familiar with agile projects such as Scrum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have knowledge and experience with Selenium Grid.
  • Knowledge of cloud providers.
  • Experience with Performance Testing using tools such as JMeter.
  • Experience with Native App Automation frameworks/tools such as Katalon Studio.

Salary and Benefit Information:

The likely salary range for this position is $75,509 - $85,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
