Job description

Sonalake is a software partnering company that helps our clients realise their product roadmaps. Product design and engineering are at the heart of our business. Our engineering teams work with clients right across the stack; UX, UI design, frontend, backend, analytics, infrastructure, operations - and everything else that goes into delivering great products.

We thrive on variety and are highly adaptable. Our teams are exposed to domains as varied as telecom billing, ad tech, securities-based lending, travel tech analytics, and many more.

Innovation is central to our mission; anticipating future client needs, analysing emerging technologies and developing new products and services.

We are now seeking a senior designer to join our design team. That’s where you come in!

Joining our design team will have you collaborating with other designers, engineers, product owners and project managers to build exceptional experiences that meet our customers’ needs. You will understand the importance of a user-centred design approach and will help evolve a strong user-centred culture within the company.

You will

  • Conduct user research, develop personas, user stories, capture workflows and determine information architecture
  • Prepare, lead and participate in collaborative design workshops, translate findings into sitemaps, wireframes and prototypes
  • Balance user needs with our client’s business goals, market viability and technical feasibility
  • Plan and run user testing sessions to validate designs
  • Create UX and UI design artefacts at appropriate levels of fidelity
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that includes front-end engineers, product owners, project managers and executives
  • Help evolve and improve our design processes with a user-centred approach

You may be a fit for this role if you

  • Have 3-5 years experience as a UX designer, UI designer, product designer, interaction designer, or similar role within a software development organisation
  • Worked as part of a multi-disciplinary development team to lead and deliver on design outputs
  • Have shaped and led design workshops with clients
  • Love design thinking, human-centred design, human-computer interaction and fluency in the latest technology trends but more importantly, able to extract the best bits for adaptation
  • Deal well with ambiguity and abstract design challenges, framing a problem to explore potential solutions
  • Clearly communicate design rationale and decisions, tailoring the approach and deliverables to the client, project, and team needs
  • Have broad experience across sectors, working for customers with different UX maturity levels
  • Enjoy data visualisation and information design
  • Are a great communicator in English - both written and spoken
  • You can start in May
What's in it for you?
  • Remote-first approach with many team-building activities. You can work from our offices in Dublin, Poznan or Bratislava, or work on a fully remote or hybrid basis. We believe in a healthy work-life balance;
  • Every Sonalaker gets a training budget and paid training days every year to upskill. This covers courses, training, books or conferences;
  • We’ve a flat organisational structure with an emphasis on open, honest communication. There are no siloes, no hierarchies and no barriers;
  • We focus on innovation: we run projects to evaluate new frameworks, create tools for internal use, contribute to the open source community and research new ways to use existing products in new problem domains;
  • Indefinite period employment contract.

We take pride in being a people-oriented company. Openness and opportunity are really important to us. We build teams that span from experienced leaders to bright graduates and work to develop all of us within our coaching culture.
