Overview

As Manager of our Global Payroll team, you are responsible for staying current on in-depth domestic and international payroll knowledge and for all aspects of managing the payroll process for Rithum. In this role you interact with other departments within the organization, third-party payroll providers, external auditors, consultants and state & federal agencies to maintain the payroll records for the company.  Additionally, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with global payroll regulations, including local tax laws, labor regulations, and statutory requirements across multiple jurisdictions. In this role, you oversee audits and regulatory reporting, ensuring all payroll practices meet legal and compliance standards internationally. This work requires an extremely detail oriented person with significant knowledge of payroll administration, including state and federal regulations, as well as global payroll compliance frameworks. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Leading and mentoring a Global Payroll Analyst.
  • Managing the processing and reporting of semi-monthly and monthly payrolls, employee records management, general ledger reconciliations, tax reporting, quarter-end filings, year-end close coordination, and providing superior customer service to approximately 700+ employees globally.
  • Conducting regular payroll audits to ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.  
  • Serving as a technical expert for payroll matters with a deep understanding of payroll law, tax regulations and accounting principles. Includes in-depth understanding of payroll systems, interfaces, earnings/deduction code set up and mapping to the general ledger, as well as posting and correcting errors.
  • Reviewing and reconciling all payroll accruals to the general ledger.
  • Managing our relationship with third-party payroll providers.
  • Serving as a liaison to employees to resolve payroll-related issues/disputes, providing exceptional customer service.  
  • Supporting the People team and communicating in understandable terms your subject matter expertise to the broader team.
  • Designing and developing ad hoc reports as needed to support payroll and other internal customers.
  • Servicing quarterly and annual external audit requests.
  • Managing SOX compliance initiatives associated with the payroll process.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll operations and efficiency.  
  • Coordinating with global teams to ensure accurate and compliant payroll execution across all regions, while managing the complexities of cross-border payroll processing.
  • Maintain confidentiality and data security standards for all payroll-related information.  

 

Qualifications 

Minimum Qualifications  

  • 5+ years of payroll experience. 
  • 3+ years of Global payroll experience required, including multi-state payroll processing.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Extensive payroll processing knowledge.
  • Expertise using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate projects, and manage a large amount of detailed tasks.
  • Ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects to timely completion.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Detailed record-keeping (accuracy is a must).
  • Ability to work standard business hours (8am - 5pm) East Coast Time with flexibility to support global teams across multiple time zones.  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 1+ years of leadership experience.
  • Experience using CloudPay for international payroll processing.
  • Spain and UK payroll processing experience.    
  • Payroll software certifications a plus.
  • Proactive approach to workload management and problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration across diverse teams, empathetic employee experience skills.
  • Global mindset with cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
