Primary Function

The Project Review Analyst I is responsible for detailed review of Condominium documentation received from Operations and Sales to determine if a project meets Newrez and eligible agency requirements. The documentation may include Declarations, Bylaws, Budget and Balance Sheet, HOA questionnaires, Master Insurance, and appraisals.

Principal Duties

  • Manage the Project Review team mailbox including review requests, inquiries and scenarios
  • Determines eligibility of Condominium projects based on documentation review/analysis and communicates results to the appropriate individuals.
  • Addresses and resolves inquiries via phone or email related to Condo Project investor guideline eligibility from internal and external associates, including Sales, Processors, Underwriters, Brokers, and Correspondents
  • Performs initial project reviews and conditional approvals within the agreed upon turn times to maintain a high level of service
  • Completes additional responsibilities as assigned by Management Team
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience Requirements  

  • High school diploma required
  • 4-year college degree preferred, or equivalent commensurate experience
  • Five (5) or more years of mortgage industry experience required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of condo project review/eligibility required
  • Co-op documentation review and analysis experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Non-Agency condominium guidelines and exception policies are required along with familiarity with HOA questionnaires, HOA budget review, condominium legal document review, Litigation review and Master HOA Insurance policy review

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision is required
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of product; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
