Administrative Assistant — Medical insurance (Remote)
Our client in the insurance industry is seeking support for a specialized program that provides life insurance services to military members and reservists. This opportunity involves working within a dynamic and collaborative team that handles daily business activities related to life operations, benefits, and claims. The selected candidate will play a key role in managing client documentation, supporting application processes, and contributing to efficient administrative workflows. Flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a client-focused mindset will be essential to success in this role.
What is in it for you:
• Hourly salary of $20.27.
• 6-month contract with the potential for permanent employment.
• Full-time position: 37.5 hours per week.
• Remote position, Monday to Friday.
• Flexible start time between 8 am and 9 am.
Responsibilities:
• Administration and processing of new applications for life insurance.
• Maintenance of application files and follow-up on required documentation.
• Support client and member requests for life insurance coverage requiring medical underwriting.
• Maintain and monitor pending applications; follow up for additional information as needed.
• Provide clerical and administrative support to the broader team.
• Participate in ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned.
• Manage incoming correspondence, including sorting, opening, and distributing faxes and emails.
• Draft and prepare responses to standard inquiries.
What you will need to succeed:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 to 4 years of administrative or customer service experience.
• Experience working with CRM systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and organize information effectively.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Demonstrated initiative and accountability.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
• Bilingual in English and French to support clients in both languages (nice-to-have).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
